Family Companion Urgent Care is open 7 days a week for same-day veterinary care. Our current hours are:Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PMSaturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PMSunday: 12:00 PM  - 5:00 PMWe are closed on major holidays. What kind of pets do you see?

At this time, we provide urgent veterinary care for dogs and cats. If you have another type of pet, please call us at 440-413-5414. We're happy to help determine whether we can provide care or guide you to an appropriate facility.

When should I go to an emergency hospital instead?

Accepted Answer

Family Companion Urgent Care is equipped to treat many same-day illnesses and injuries, but some conditions require the advanced monitoring and 24-hour care available at an emergency hospital.Please seek emergency care if your pet is experiencing severe difficulty breathing, active or repeated seizures, uncontrolled bleeding, severe trauma, collapse or inability to stand, suspected poisoning or toxin ingestions, or any other life-threatening conditions. If you are unsure whether your pet needs urgent or emergency care, please call us at 440-431-5414. We are happy to help guide you to the most appropriate level of care.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, checks, and CareCredit. Payment is due at the time services are provided.

Do you accept pet insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes! While we do not bill pet insurance companies directly, many pet insurance plans may reimburse you for eligible urgent care services. Payment is due at the time of your visit, and we'll provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking with your pet insurance provider for specific benefits.

Will my regular veterinarian receive a copy of my pet's visit?

Yes! With your permission, we will send your pets visit summary and medical records to your primary veterinarian after your urgent care visit. This helps keep your regular veterinary team informed of any diagnostics, treatments, medications and recommended follow-up care.

Do you offer hospitalization or overnight care?

Accepted Answer

No. Family Companion Urgent Care is an out-patient veterinary facility, so we do not provide hospitalization. We can examine your pet, perform diagnostics, and provide many treatments during your visit. If your pet needs 24-hour monitoring, intensive care, or hospitalization, we will discuss this with your and help coordinate transfer to an appropriate emergency hospital for continued care.
